Each year Pantone picks one color for the upcoming year based on trend and consumer studies that will be Pantone’s Official Color of the Year – and for those that are unfamiliar with Pantone; it’s a worldwide standard for color communication and inspiration. Think of Pantones as paint swatches – a Pantone for every color that exists in the world and a name and identification number for every color.
This year, Pantone has announced the 2018 color of the year and it’s ULTRA VIOLET! We are already seeing Ultra Violet everywhere; from apparel, to shoes, to lawn furniture, to kitchen appliances, to nail polish, to music videos. We can’t get enough Ultra Violet!
